Why is our media related to folktales?
Nowadays, children don't want to read folktales any longer because it's old and boring. So, reader’s about folktales are decreasing. Actually, each folktale that we read have morals that builds our character. Through multimedia, we want to promote the folktales that are not known by many people, so people can read more traditional folktales and we want to prove that traditional folktales are fun to read. Folktales are not just educational, they can build our characters! also, we promote the folktales by using this application called comic life. in this application, we took pictures of ourselves dressed up as characters to make 2 stories so people can read it. We hope that our comic can make our readers want to read more traditional folktales
Brief information about folktales
Folktales are traditional stories from each country like Indonesia, Malin Kundang, and Si Pitung. The folktales can be a legend, myth or even a story. Folktales have been part of a culture for many years, folktales can be fiction or non-fiction. One of the ways the folktales were created was by people seeing something unusual, and then being told to family or friends. That is one of the ways the past people made folktales. There are also famous folktales like Daniel Boone, John Henry, and from Indonesia, Malin Kundang or even Bawang Merah dan Bawang Putih.
Now folktales have been told in many countries such as Indonesia, America, England, Japan, and many more countries in the entire universe. Many people need stories like traditional folktales, examples: children ages 5-10, teenagers from ages 11-17, and even adults need folktales, especially folktales that build reader’s character. Folktales have been passed down for many generations so don’t just waste folktales, because you might be the next famous folktale teller. So, folktales were the fans of most of the children because of its great character building and others.

Character building means that we build our character into a good character. It also means that we improve our overall character with some good characters. Good characters are like diligence, dependability, truthfulness, independent and more. We, children, must do character building because it can improve our character and attitude to be a better person. It also can make you be truly successful. The example of character building thought is, I feel successful when I do my best.

2. The message what the writer is telling to the readers (because the narrator doesn't tell if the character changes to a good character)

For us, folktales are important because they can help build our character to become a greater person just like the moral of Bawang Merah dan Bawang Putih, don’t be greedy. And it is an important issue because we can learn more and more from our country’s culture.

The condition and situation in Indonesia are that many of the outsiders don’t recognize our folktales much. in Indonesia, the folktales are well known by the people of the Indonesian country and the stories are interesting for most of the Indonesian people and we are some of them who love Indonesian stories, because they have a good morals and it builds children’s characters. But perhaps for some folktales from Indonesia, the name, and the place are very long and very complicated to read. So overall, the folktales conditions and the situations in Indonesia have been praised by its amazing and by its creativity to make such a name, such a place, and also an unexpected storyline.
